my god, i wish i had been more prompt with my updating my journal. quite a bit has happened lately, and it will be rather difficult to put it in one post. in that case, i'll touch on most of the stuff just a little.

Any new news?
it's just a few more days until my inay's(my grandma, for my non-filipino friends ^^ ) 80th. well, aside from all the little dramas here and there that have been happening, i suppose it will pretty much go down without a hitch. let's hope, at least. i just wish things didn't go so sour in this past week or so. well, i guess it's really out of my power.

on a happy note, i've finally gotten the slideshow done. although many a change had been done because my mom wanted it, it finally got finished. joy to the lord! (jay would know what i mean)

UTADA fever on the way!
i've downloaded UTADA's first leaked(i'm sure more will come soon) single "Easy Breezy", and am quite happy, yet rather disappointed about it. it's really a mix, actually. although the lyrics are drastically odd, with its pun about an old phrase "easy peasy japanesey", or something like that, i find it pretty catchy. i understand why some people don't like it. anyway, i have been listening to it for a while now. still, i'm not going to pass and big judgement... it's only the first single.. and "Devil Inside" should be coming out in due time. i'll wait for that, and then preorder my own copy of the album(coming out october 5, people!).

Bad Sleeping Habits
i really need to get into a better habit with my sleeping. i've been up most nights lately up until about 3(hence, the time i'm posting this). some days, i'm lucky enough to get up around 9 or 10, but other days i can wake up as late as 2. i hate waking up late. it means i don't have as much time to get stuff done. hopefully in august i'll get my act together.

Sheet Music Gripes
it's amazing just how hard it is sometimes to find really good japanese sheet musics. you have no idea just how much i've wanted to play "Deep River", "Traveling", and above all "Final Distance". everytime i get a new link for these sheets, i get the guitar and vocal versions. think guitar tabs. is that good enough for piano? nope.

there was quite a bit more to talk about, but i'm not gunna post it up. hopefully, also, i'll update on a much better basis. no more 3 to 4 week gaps.

before i begin, i'd like to wish everyone a great 4th of july. i hope everyone's having a good time today.

Any new news?
my friend Matt came over this past friday. it was really fun. he let me borrow his game Samurai Warriors.

speaking of which, Samurai Warriors is a very addicting game. i've been having a lot of fun playing it. the best way to describe the game is just a full on, one-against-a-million brawl. one samurai against all those who oppose it. fun stuff.

i'm also thinking about coming back into RO. since Jay showed me all of the stuff that's been renovated on the server, i'll probably come back and play.

i downloaded a couple movies from the jpop.com forums in the past few days. one was Princess Blade, which turned out to be a very enjoyable, but could-have-been-better, futuristic samurai flick. the movies at those forums are actually pretty cool. all i've been doing lately has been watching them. they've kept me busy.

The Returner
the other movie i downloaded from the forums is called The Returner. at its heart, this movie is best described as ' a live action anime episode'. you have your ace gunman, named Miyamoto, who sports the usual black trenchcoat and takes out enemies with great style. then, the sci-fi anime attributes come in when the lead female character from the future enters. she, apparently, is here because she's supposed to kill the first sighted alien, dated october 2002. in killing this creature, she's preventing a great war between humans and Daggra(the name for the aliens) which has left the earth a barren wasteland. (live action anime episode... get it?) so yeah, they team up, doing all the stuff heroes in animes do. good movie so far, i'm watching it right now.

i guess that's really all i have right now... tomorrow i'll come back with some other things to talk about. now, back to the movie

If each religion is supposed to be so great, how come they're always in conflict?

ok, i'm gunna try something a little different for this post. since i have a few topics to discuss, i'll break everything up into sections.

Any new news?
well, today i woke up a 2. 2, you say? yes, that's right, 2. in the morning? no. the afternoon. lol.

i really don't have much news to talk about, except that i've been practicing my piano a lot more these days. thank god for that keyboard. right now i'm learing brian mcknight's "back at one". classic song right there. other than that, there's really not much else to say. oh, my friend matt's coming over tomorrow, and as i've heard, my bro's gunna come over for the weekend, as well.

by the way, how do you all like the signature? i'm sure it's not as good as my last one, but i still feel pretty good about it.

Antivirus gripes
bad, norton antivirus, bad! it started to really give me problems these past couple of days. well, in general, it always took up quite a bit of resources, especially during scans. now, when i uninstalled the 2002 that came with the computer and prompted to install my download 2004, it wouldn't go through! it just simply said "norton antivirus 2004 professional installation failed". damn you! well, i downloaded 'panda titanium antivirus', and i'm much happier with that. much less resources now, and since i've installed it, i got rid of 7 viruses without even needing to do system scan! yay

Parents (just sort of a tiny rant)
my parents can really iritate me sometimes. especially my dad, with his whole "there should be water bottles in the fridge all the time!" shtick. every time my dad looks into the fridge, wanting some cold water, he complains if there's no water bottles in there. well.. here's an idea: go get that pitcher full of water (which because of this whole bottle crap it's just sitting there collecting dust) and fill up a cup with it. then, go get the ice from the freezer, and put a few cubes in the same cup. wait a few minutes, and bam! cold water. yet, of course, he doesn't think about doing that for some really odd reason, he just calls me and tells me to put six bottles in the freezer.

ever notice how parents can get upset in just half a second with you for any kind of reason, but when you get angry because of the opposite reason, they look at you with a slightly angered(see?) and questioning face, asking, "are you/why are you angry?" it's as if they've never seen you angry, or you are very strictly forbidden to be angry at all while around them. sometimes i really wish i could get just a little angry towards my parents. i'm not even going to use an example, all you guys probably know what i mean already.

If ever I believe my work is done... then I'll start back at one.

not much new to report... just got done with the new icon and signature/banner. it's really pretty fun playing piano IN my room now... i don't have to go to the piano so much anymore.

n other news, i also just got done making my new AIM name. here:

The Kakusei Mind

originally, i wanted it to be like "TheAwakenedMind", meaning that my mind has been 'opened to the truth' or 'spiritually enlightened'. however, after talking to a good friend from LiveJournal, i realized that in using 'awakened' in japanese... it would be too. damn. long. so she gave me the adjective 'awakening'. thus, "The Kakusei(Awakening) Mind" was made. it fits better, i think, because it sounds nicer when you think that the mind never is fully 'opened to the truth' or 'spiritually awakened'. i know it probably sounds really corny, but hey, who cares?

so that's really it... now for my *new* signature

Awaken my mind... open my eyes to the truth... and open my heart to love.

small bench: $42

yamaha survival kit: $40

keyboard stand: $29.99

YAMAHA DGX-300 KEYBOARD: $399.99

the satisfaction of having ALL THIS in my room: PRICELESS, SUCKA!

yeah, people, i got a yamaha keyboard now! i won't have to go to the piano all the time just to practice anymore. lol, my "cave" is losing sooooo much space now. oh well, it's still great to have this now. apparently, it's for having 4.0 GPA all year in school, as well as for my birthday.

it was awesome. we went to the guitar center to just check out all the keyboards they had, and i started talking to one of the dudes there. he gave all this information on every single keyboard there, and my dad was listening in. we left for a while, went to best buy, and then decided to come back to the store and look one more time. well, long story short, we ended up buying one. lol, there's a lot more to that story, though, but i'm sort of lazy to tell it all. maybe tomorrow.

anyway, since all of today was spent driving around and buying stuff, i still have stuff i need to do, in regards to this LINK. so check it out, and try to remind me about doing these tasks tomorrow.

thanks!
